Lifelong Democrat Macías is Running As an Independent to Give Voters a Choice and Advocate for Chicago’s Latino Community

Chicago, IL — Nuestro PAC, a national organization dedicated to mobilizing Latino voters and electing champions for the community, endorsed Mayra Macías for Illinois’s 4th Congressional District. Macías, a lifelong Democrat and Back of the Yards native, is running as an Independent to ensure residents have a choice at the ballot box this November.

Macías has spent her career advocating for the Latino community, previously serving as the Executive Director of Latino Victory Project and Building Back Together, where she worked to advance the Biden-Harris administration’s policy agenda. Her campaign is focused on tackling the affordability crisis and protecting residents from the Trump administration’s aggressive deportation machine.

Our district deserves a representative who will put people first and fight for the resources our families need to thrive. Nuestro PAC was founded in 2020 to mobilize and turn out Latino voters. In just five months of work, Nuestro PAC raised and spent $10 million running bilingual ads in eight key electoral states, helping deliver wins for Biden in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. That year, Nuestro PAC became the largest independent Latino-focused super PAC in the country.
