Moms Fed Up PAC Endorses Mayra Macías for Congress in Illinois’s 4th District
Chicago, IL — Moms Fed Up PAC, a national organization empowering mothers to seek and hold political office and advocating for policies that enhance the lives of families across the nation, endorsed Mayra Macías for Illinois’s 4th Congressional District. Macías, a lifelong Democrat and Back of the Yards native, is running as an independent candidate to ensure residents have a choice at the ballot box this November.
“We’re excited to endorse Mayra Macías for the U.S. House in IL04,” said Moms Fed Up PAC. “Mayra has dedicated her life to addressing the needs of families — from protecting immigrant communities to expanding economic opportunity. She’s the kind of leader we need in Congress.”
Macías has spent her career advocating for hardworking families across the United States. As Executive Director of Latino Victory Project and Building Back Together, she worked to advance the Biden-Harris administration’s policy agenda and fight for the issues that matter most to families, like good-paying jobs, immigration reform, quality education, and a clean environment. Her campaign is focused on protecting Chicago’s families by tackling the affordability crisis and protecting residents from the Trump administration’s aggressive deportation machine.
“I am deeply honored to receive Moms Fed Up PAC’s endorsement,” said Macías. “I was raised in a working-class immigrant family in Back of the Yards, where mothers are the backbone of the community. I learned early on what strength and sacrifice look like by watching my mother serve as a caretaker for so many in our family and then as a home care worker. Becoming an aunt for the first time has only deepened that understanding. Seeing my sister-in-law navigate the challenges of being a working mother has reinforced just how much support families need.”
Our district deserves a representative who will fight for the resources our families need to thrive and against the Trump administration’s policies of fear-mongering and aggression that target our community. I’ve dedicated my career to serving others — from teaching middle school English to leading a national organization that passed transformative legislation that invested in the people right here in our district. I hope to continue doing just that by working for Chicago families from Congress.”
Founded by former U.S. Representative Ann Kirkpatrick, Moms Fed Up PAC was established in 2016 to support and uplift women in politics. Over the past six years, Moms Fed Up PAC has endorsed and donated to over 100 female candidates across the country and fostered partnerships with female elected officials in various states.
